I had Sophos and a message came up telling me it was expiring so I installed Comodo Antivirus. Funny thing is that Sophos started up again and I don't appear to have Comodo? If Sophos stops working I will try your software again. I think it is great that it is free!!

Well, yesterday I installed and executed the application. For me was a mess. What the hell means "sandbox" ? I didn´t have the time enough to review the manual, if there is. When I saw a pop up window saying something like "Your application xxxx was sent to the sandbox...", I decided to uninstall Comodo. And then appeared another pop up window displaying "You are not the Administrator", and I am. So I had to uninstall it using Revo Uninstaller, an excellent freeware from Piriform Co., founding that there were 3 applications related to Comodo!. Sincerely, I was only looking for an on demand virus scanner, nothing more. Was really tedious. Never more.

I previously had used McAfee and had numerous problems with the program. I had no trouble loading Comodo and I have so far been very pleased with its performance. I find it to be easy to use and I appreciate the level of control that I have and the 'help' features. And it's free :)

I am vey unhappy with my download. I now have an annoying pop-up lower right window which blocks the ability to read text in incoming emails---Comodo sandbox which will not go away no matter how much I click on OK.
My computer now takes 5 min. to open up with the scanning of documents...it is horrible and I am going to delete the download unless you can fix it.,
I have a Dell Inspiron E1505 Vista which I know has its own problems but waiting this long to open up is ridiculous.

Hi, I was recommended to Comodo, but having downloaded the software it froze my pc, not sure why this software conflicted. However in the end I had to delete the software because I was unable to obtain an internet connection?? So, maybe you could throw some light on "why" I was unable to get an internet connection and why my pc froze?

I down loaded Comodo Antivirus after my existing antivirus allowed a virus to enter and could not detect it. Comodo found it instantly and removed it. Although a bit time consuming at first I am very happy with it so far.

It took nine hours for them to scan up to 75000 files. It should only take up to two and half hours - three hours to scan my computer, and it usually does and is all the time needed to scan my whole computer. Not the whole day. Not worth the download, a total waste of space on your computer. It takes thirty minutes - forty - five to do a quick scan and still get good results.

Easy to load and use. Found a Trojan that AVG missed and scans with good speed. Excellant anti-virus and malware ability.

The only minor issue is having to mark every windows software included with windows as safe.

It's the best I've tried so far. I gave up AVG after it failed to stop two incoming trojans, the last of which resulted in my having to reformat and start all over again. On a friend's recommendation, I downloaded Comodo.

I have always hated firewalls. They're such pains in the ass to deal with. The one that's included with Comodo can be a bit much at times, but after AVG not intercepting virut the last time, I'm a little paranoid right now, and Comodo is doing a great job to allay those feelings.

In short: I love it! It managed to find what traces were left by virut and conflicker on my accessory drives.

I highly recommend this to anyone, especially those who occasionally wander onto "questionable" web sites.

I feel It is a good product but has this annoying function of asking permission regarding daily used applications like winword,photoshop, sound forge, excel,etc.,

It also fails to remove jargon.vbs a wscript.exe which actually open and corrupts USB Disks as per my experience, Performance wise I am very happy compared to other anti virus I have tried on like Mc afee and AVG... I like this product since it have firewall and all other essentials bundled in it...

Hope to get individual update files apart from internet connections since that would be another plus point... I also found a spelling mistake in Protection in disable and enable protection. Will send a screen shot if you people have difficulty locating it. Anyways it is a great product, since it was made my you people from COMODO! It Rocks for me... A happy User.. As IF Now!

Many thanks for the opportunity to try Comodo AV.
Received error message re: missing uxtheme.dll
when trying to run the setup file downloaded.
The file size was listed as 34 megabytes on the
web page but only listed as 24 megabytes on the
'download comodo' screen. So far I have been
unsuccessful in locating uxtheme.dll
Will send feedback if successful.
Am using W-98 and had to uninstall AVG antivirus
version 7.5 since signature updates no longer
being supplied. Their version 8 requires a later
operating system than W-98. Also tried Avira
but it too rejected W-98 in spite of it being
advertised as suitable for W-98.

A great improvement over earlier versions.
Once I got it "trained" it just purrs along and does it's thing.

I tested it by trying to visit sites with known malware and Comodo and me know about it in real time.

I like it so far - but I didn't find the manual until after I had to decide the fate of some defense security alerts and as I'm not an expert on computer jargon I found this quite stressful and difficult. Also I had one alert which advised me to send to Comodo for analysis, but I could not find any instructions as to how to do this.
However, the above probably says more about my unfamiliarity with computers than the antivirus programme itself which I think is quick, clear and satisfactory.

Early days yet but it seems to work fine and the biggest bonus is the lack of programs running which tie up your processor on so many similar products ie i was using pc guard as supplied by virgin broadband but this often took up 30% of my power,a real pain! A waste of my time

I was looking for free antiviruses to download and came across Comodo. After the the time I spent downloading, installing, sending files to your server and scanning, I still couldn't erase the infections on my machine because I was required to purchase.

I don't have a problem with buying things, I just can't stand products that boast "free" this, "free" that, when yet nothing offered is free.

First time with Comodo

Was having trouble with Avira AntiVir and a friend recommended Comodo. It downloaded fine and the instructions to close all running applications were clear. I then Uninstalled Avira and installed Comodo. The only confusing part was the initial scan when it found programs that weren't on it's "Safe" list, but figured that out and it has been running quietly in the background ever since. I like that it doesn't send me a daily email to "upgrade" to the "premium" or "high-priced" version. You've done a good job with this.

Anti virus is not working on Windows Vista.

I am using now on Windows XP on my protabele, but it is a pitty that it is not working on Vista, Comodo tells that it is possible in october but it is not working on Vista I hope that it is comming soon foor using Vista.

Major Comodo Antivirus Issues

The layout and the content of this application seem good and it has a very solid / quality feel to it...but.

On the initial scan, my machine was wrecked. The first sign of damage was a Windows popup suggesting that I might want to reinstall critical windows files as they had been damaged, removed or corrupted. I did this, but on a restart had the same hal.dll issue reported elsewhere. Not to mention the destruction of many other DLL's as well.

I normally use Virtual Machines to test such software, but on this occasion was lulled into a false sense of security based on my findings of the Comodo Firewall. How wrong I was.

This is a huge issue, and many users who are not IT professionals could end up spending a large amount of time and money (as well as loosing valuable data) by installing this program and I feel that Comodo should pretty quickly remove this from their list of applications that are available to the public.

This product has done more damage to my system in one shot than any virus that I have ever encountered. My suggestion is to fix it soon or start loosing a lot of credibility.

I now have to question the use of the firewall as well. What hidden / unknown quality issues belie this product too?

PS To rate this program I set all values to Poor as this was the only way to show that the current application needs a 0 rating. IMHO it is of no use rating any other part of the application until it actually works!

DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING COMODO RELEASE

This software trashed my newly built pc. It interrupted one of my email accounts in Outlook and promptly deleted much of my hard drive including hal.dll AND my xp registration. It took me 3 rebuilds and a wasted week determining where the problem was. I will never trust anything this company releases and I would advise anyone to leave well alone. (ps I am an IT consultant).

It May Be Free, But You Will Pay In The End!

I had downloaded the Comodo Firewall program successfully. So, I decided to download and install the Antivirus program. Big Mistake!! The program did not load properly on my XP OS. When I attempted to start the computer, none of the programs would operate. I could not disengage the Antivirus, nor could I access the Add/Remove program to get rid of it. After almost 4 hours of utter and complete frustration, I finally contacted an expert who helped me to disengage the Antivirus program while running in Safe Mode. The time, trouble, and inconvenience to me were worth well more than the $50 bucks it would have costs to buy a decent program. Comodo Antivirus is the worst program I've ever downloaded. Comodo Group should do the Internet community a real service and take it off the market until the bugs have been removed.

Piece of crap

I never even actually got a chance to use this program, beyond the initial first scan antivirus programs use. It said something was corrupt, or that a file was missing or something, so I tried to uninstal- I have not been able to get it off my computer, it won't let me fully uninstal now, becuase files are missing to do so, and yet I keep trying to download it again to instal, thinking if I do that, I'll be able to uninstal properly, and it downloads, but WILL NOT install agin correctly. My computer is all screwy now because of this program, and it constantly pops up trying to reinstall it again, but can't because of the missing files, and pops up again and again, I CANNOT get it off my computer now for the life of me! Do not use, it could happen to you. Probably the only way I'm ever going to get it off, is if I format my drive and erase everything! And then I will have to lose everything I have and start from scratch again. Screw that!
